Land scam case: Two DDA officials remanded into 7-day custody
New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) A special CBI court today remanded the two DDA senior officials arrested yesterday in connection with a multi-crore land scam case, into seven days' custody of the investigating agency.
CBI judge S K Kaushik handed down the order to Deputy Director A K Mishra and J R Gaur, who work in DDA's slum division, after taking into consideration several documents recovered by the CBI.
They too have promised the Judge to cooperate with the CBI during the investigations.
R S Sandhu, manager of prime suspect in the case of Ashok Malhotra's canteen in the Delhi Assembly, was arrested on Thursday night, and has been remanded to CBI custody for 10 days. Malhotra who is already serving a 14-day custody, will be produced in court on August 21.
Malhotra has alleged conspired with DDA officials to fraudulently acquire and sell land meant for the resettlement of slum-dwellers.
