Kumaraswamy on Janata Darshan

Bangalore, Aug 18 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy today claimed that he was able to take administration to the doorstep of people and solve their problems directly.

Commenting on his weekly Janata Darshan programme, Mr Kumaraswamy told newsmen that the scheme had witnessed 70 per cent success.

Before mounting on his marathon darshan for the day with a large beeline of people waiting to pour their woes to him he said that he had given priority to meet people and resolve their problems.

However, most of the people who meet him seek government employment, he said adding that it was difficult to place them in government service, though it could assure them gainful employment through self employment schemes.

The government planned to build 24 lakh houses under Ashraya Housing scheme in the next three years to provide them to the people below poverty line he said that plans were also afoot to implement a scheme of providing pension to women, deserted or abondoned by their husbands.

The Chief Minister provided a loan facility of Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 to 14 beneficiaries belonging to minoriy communities.They included auto rickshaw drivers and women.

More than 3000 people had gathered at Chief Minister's home office Krishna for the Janata Darshan.

Mr T V Subramanya, a 20 year old disabled with a bunch of state and national level medals in kabaddi and athletics on his neck and shield in his hands said he was coming for the second time to the Janata Darshan and this time asking for a government job.

He said he had represented the state as kabaddi captain at the state level won national medals besides taking part in cricket too.

He now wants the Chief Minister to come to his village in Doddaballapur taluk and come and stay at his house to set a model that he is caring for the disabled and handicapped population of the state.

Another old woman from Arakanahalli from Maddur taluk with her bed-ridden daughter Mangala approached the Chief Minister for a help and he immediately assured with a Rs 10,000. She was issued a cheque by the officials instantaneously.

She said that it was difficult for her to go for a coolie work leaving her only young daughter in the house.

The daughter was paralysed when she was ten years and it has been troublesome for her to take care of her since then, she The problems the people came with are mostly related to jobs, health, and disability.

A disabled man along with his wife and a daughter was also assured with a help of providing a house under the Ashraya housing scheme and including the name of his daugther Kamala in the Bhagyalaxmi.

The problems the people mostly narrated were related to jobs, healthcare, legal disputes and pensions.
