Funeral for film legend Bergman today
Stockholm, Aug 18: A close circle of family and friends will on Saturday bid farewell to Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman at a funeral on Faro Island in the Baltic sea, the TT news agency reported today.
The film and theatre director and script writer died peacefully in his sleep on July 30 aged 89 at his home on Faro.
Bergman influenced a generation of movie-makers with his often stark works about mortality and sexual torment. He was famed for films such as ''Wild Strawberries'', ''Scenes From a Marriage'' and ''Fanny and Alexander''.
Bergman will be buried at the Faro Church graveyard.
