Chandigarh, Aug 18 (UNI) Under its ongoing campaign for replacement of incandescent bulbs with energy efficient compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) today declared four more CFL villages.' These villages were Gujjarwas, Sigri, Medpur and Mahasar in Narnaul Operation Circle, a DHBVN spokesman said.

The total number of villages having replaced all traditional yellow bulbs with CFLs in the circle's area has increased to 34.

The DHBVN officials camped in these villages. They also organized CFL stalls in the villages and went from door to door along with Sarpanches and other members of Panchayats to persuade the residents to replace traditional yellow bulbs with the energy efficient CFLs.

With the reduction in load on the distribution system in these villages due to replacement of power guzzeler bulbs, the quality of power supply had improved considerably, the spokesman said.

The officials plan to declare seven more villages on cent per cent CFLs during next week.
