Car burnt on ghat road

Tirumala, Aug 18 (UNI) A car in which four people were travelling caught fire due to a shot circuit on Tirupati-Tirumala ghat road here today.

Police said Prasad, along with three others, arrived Tirupati from Chennai by car for darshan of Lord Balaji. While they were proceeding to Tirumala, the car suddenly caught fire.

The timely action by the fire tenders from Tirumala averted the major fire and the petrol tank of the car was not affected.

No one was injured and traffic on the Tirupati-Tirumala Ghat Road was affected for half an hour, police added.
