5 burnt in acid attack
Mirzapur, Aug 18 (UNI) At least five people sustained serious burns after rival communities resorted to acid attack over a minor dispute here today.
ASP Ram Swaroop said a dispute at village Sundarke soon snowballed into a full-fledged clash, when rival groups attacked each other with acid, injuring Sarju Singh (24), Bhim (26) and Ramlal (45) critically.
Hearing the shrieks, when Amritlal Bind reached the spot, the accused also stabbed him and his ten-year-old daughter.
The injured were rushed to the district hospital in a severe condition.
The ASP added four people from one community, identified as Waseem, Haseen, Haleem and Mustakeem, have been nabbed, while a hunt for others was on.
Meanwhile, police in strength has been deployed to prevent fresh violence.
