2 arrested for violating Wildlife Protection Act
Port Blair, Aug 18 (UNI) The Andaman and Nicobar police have apprehended two persons for allegedly violating the Wildlife Protection Act.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Chand told UNI here today that 12 kg venison, a deer's head and other equipment were recovered from their possession.
Both the accused persons, along with the seized articles, were handed over to Wildlife officials for action under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, the SP said.
Poaching of deer is banned under the wildlife act, Mr Chand added.
