Silver touches six week low, gold crashes
Mumbai, Aug 17: Silver today closed at a six weeks low of Rs 16,945, down by a whopping Rs 660, while pure gold plunged by Rs 105 to close at Rs 8,840 per ten gm on sustained heavy offers by stock-holders in view of subdued advice from global markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 16,945 (17,605), Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 8,790 (8,895) Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 8,840 (8,945)
