New Delhi, Aug 17 (UNI) The Oracle Education Foundation in partnership with IT industry body Nasscom today launched Oracle's community service, Think.com in Hindi, to create learning projects and outstanding educational content for students as well as teachers of various schools in India.

''Think.com was launched in the country in 2004 and is actively used by over 75,000 students and teachers in over 1,100 schools in India including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and DAV schools,'' Oracle India Managing Director Krishan Dhawan told reporters here at the launch.

The Hindi user-interface will enable even more Indian students and teachers to collaborate on projects and share educational content with peers around the world - more than 2,77,000 other students and educators from 50 countries who are members of this protected online learning community, he said.

''The availability of Think.com with a Hindi interface, will open this global learning community to thousands of Indian students,'' he added.

However, this is the first time that Think.com has been available in an Indian language.

The company also plans to launch the website in other Indian regional languages in the future.

''The global collaboration and communication skills they pick up using Think.com will help students when they join the international workforce. That Oracle has made this platform available in Hindi speaks about the company's commitment to bridge the skill gap in India,'' Nasscom President Kiran Karnik said.

Think.com is a protected, teacher-mediated environment where learning takes place with no advertising. Within Think.com, students and teachers are granted space to design and implement learning projects within their class, or with other schools globally, he said.
