Four persons, including a police constable killed in J&K
Srinagar, Aug 17 (UNI) Militants killed four persons, including two women and a police constable, while one person was abducted in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
Official sources said two women were killed by militants in Jammu region today. Further details are awaited.
A police spokesman said militants shot dead Mohammad Yaqub Mir and a police constable Manzoor Ahmad Mir at Chak-e-Arslan Khan at Bandipora.
A massive hunt has been launched to nab the killers, he said.
This was the first major militancy - related incident in the state after peaceful Independence Day functions.
He said 5 Rashtriya Rifles recovered a live hand grenade from the house of one Reyaz Ahmad at Urpash Ganderbal.
Militants kidnapped one Arshid Ahmad Shat from Nowshera.
