Call rates open higher at 6.20 per cent

Mumbai, Aug 17 (UNI) Inter-bank call money rates today opened at 6.20 per cent as compared to the previous close of 6.2 per cent.

The call rates opened at 6.20 per cent, fell to the low of 6.05 per cent during the morning trade, dealers said.

Being, a reporting friday, almost all banks have covered up their positions and there was not much rush for the funds, dealers said adding that weighted average was at 6.16 per cent.

Government Securities were traded higher by 30.35 per cent in reaction to the sharp fall in the stock market, dealers added.
