Atta Dal scheme will boomerang on SAD-BJP Govt: Dullo
Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 17 (UNI) Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee president Shamsher Singh Dullo today claimed that the ''Atta-Dal'' scheme recently launched by Punjab government will be responsible for the fall of the Parkash Singh Badal led SAD-BJP alliance government.
Talking to media persons at village Kheri Nodh Singh Bhari after presiding over a meeting of the Congress workers, Mr Dullo said a large number of people, who have more income than Rs 30,000, have been identified as beneficery of the scheme, which was against the rules.
He said that his party was preparing a detailed report to submit to Punjab Governor so that the state government could not dare to interfere in forthcoming panchyat elections.
He condemned the ruling SAD-BJP combine for throwing all norms to the winds and misusing Government machinery to achieve their narrow ends in the recent Municipal Corporation elections. He described the MC poll results as rejection of policies and programmes of SAD-BJP regime.
After all this, he said, ''Punjab Government had no right to stay in power and should quit on moral grounds''.
''If the MC polls had been held in a free fair and just manner, Congress tally would have been much higher,'' he asserted.
