Wipro BPO outsources hiring to MeritTrac

New Delhi, Aug 15: Wipro BPO, the Rs 1,000-crore arm of Wipro Technologies, has outsourced its recruitment process to skills assessment company MeritTrac for reducing hiring cost by about 15-20 per cent.

"Right hiring is the first and the most important step towards reducing attrition. Our objective is to move to a hands-free recruiting process and this is the first step towards it," said Wipro BPO CEO T K Kurien.

He said the scoring grids and the storage of voice clips would provide the company with valuable information to select the right talent for the right process.

According to industry estimates, the company hires about 2,000 employees every month after scanning 20,000 applications.
