Maoists threaten to kill journalist

Kathmandu, Aug 15 (UNI) Young Communist League (YCL), affiliated to Maoist Young league, has threatened to kill a journalist of weekly newspaper after he declined the offer from the party to rejoin the organisation.

Madav Basnet, the journalist had left the Maoist party three years ago.

About 20 cadres of YCL encircled the office of 'Dristhi'and attempted to abduct the journalist and threatened to kill him.

Various organisations have condemned the attack.

Meanwhile, the Maoists affiliated workers have been disrupting the distribution of 'The Himalayan Times' and 'Annapurna Post' since Saturday.
