M Sc student commits suicide

Lucknow, Aug 15 (UNI) A M Sc first year student at the Chaudhury Charan Singh University, Meerut committed suicide today.

Police said here that Shalini Jain apparently used a dupatta to hang herself from the ceiling fan in her room at the Durga Bhabhi girls' hostel in the compus.

The reason behind her taking the exterme step was not immediately known.

The Charan Singh university had recently been in the limelight when its PRO Dr Kavita Chaudhury was allegedly murdered and senior UP ministers in the previous government were charged with the crime.

The CBI is investigating the case.
