Six killed in TN communal clash
Chennai, Aug 14 (UNI) Six people were killed in a clash between two communities at Tenkasi in southern Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu today.
A top police official told UNI that the killings were sequel to the murder of one Kumarapandiyan in December last year.
Seeking revenge for the killing, the brother of Kumarapandiyan and his supporters, attacked the group hailing from other community, leading to the clash.
Three people were killed on both the sides, the official said.
Police pickets have been posted in Tenkasi to prevent any further flare up.
Senior police officials, including the South Zone IG and Tirunelveli Range DIG P kannappan were camping on the spot.
