Sever ties with BJP: Sena district incharges
Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) Shiv Sena district in-charges have opened that the party should sever its 23-year-old tie with the BJP in Maharashtra.
A meeting of the in-charges from 33 districts was held here yesterday in which this view was expressed in the presence of Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray.
Mr Thackeray told the district in-charges that he would convey the opinion expressed at the meeting to Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
''We want the alliance to continue but there is a need to strengthen the party in all 288 legislative assembly constituencies,'' Mr Thackeray said pointing out that the BJP High Command too wanted the alliance to continue, but some state leaders were making statements to the contrary.
