Security beefed up at Indo-Nepal border
Siddharthnagar, Aug 14: Security has been beefed up at Indo-Nepal international border to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion of Independence day.
The international border of 305 kilometres that comprises Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur and Shravasti districts is under high security cover from today.
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Deputy Inspector General S Bando Upadhyay today told sources that every person passing the border would be frisked and interrogated thoroughly.
In addition, dog squads have been deployed at sensitive areas of Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj districts.
Metal detectors and machines to detect fake currency have also been installed at all 47 outposts at Indo-Nepal international border, he added.
