Rupee opens at 40.64/66 per dollar

Mumbai, Aug 14: The Rupee today opened slightly weak at Rs 40.64/66 per dollar from the previous close of 40.6250/6350 per dollar in an otherwise quiet trading at the inter-bank foreign exchange market this morning.

The local currency touched the low of 40.69 per dollar, and high of 40.64 against the American Greenback and is currently being quoted in the range of 40.68/69, dealers said.

''There was absolutely range bound trading and much movement is not expected in the market ahead of the independence day holiday tomorrow,'' a senior Forex dealer pointed out.
