Rs 24.01 cr additional budget sanctioned for Kolhapur: Patil

Kolhapur, Aug 14 (UNI) District Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil today said the planning department of Maharashtra government has sanctioned an additional budget of Rs 24.01 crore to Kolhapur district for the current 2007-2008 financial year.

Addressing a news conference here at district collectorate, Mr Patil said the District Planning and Development Council (DPDC) had forwarded a proposal of an outlay totalling Rs 6,616.99 lakh, including district annual general plan of Rs 3,122 lakh, Rs 3,491.99 lakh special component plan and other Rs 3 lakh.

However, the state planning department sanctioned an additional fund aggregating Rs 8,138 lakh, including Rs 3,746 lakh towards district annual general plan, Rs 4,389 lakh as special component plan and other Rs 3 lakh, thereby a hike of about 23 per cent to the district outlay was submitted, he pointed out and said about 24 per cent of the total approved had been spent on various work till July-end.

The state government will provide crop loans to the farmers at six per cent interest rate, he said and added that he has received a proposal to build about 3,500 rooms for anganwadi in the district.
