Red sander logs seized from Chennai harbour

Chennai, Aug 14 (UNI) Revenue Intelligence officials have seized 1512 red sander logs weighing about 37 tonne and worth more than Rs 1.5 crore, in three seperate containers at Chennai harbour.

An official release here today said about 940 red sander logs were seized in two containers, to be sent to China. The remaining 572 were seized in a third container, which was bound for Malaysia.

The international market value of the seized sanders was estimated at Rs three crore, the release added.

UNI
