Probe ordered into farmer's death
Mahoba, Aug 14 (UNI) A probe has been ordered into the death of a farmer, who allegedly died under pressure from a bank for the recovery of loan here.
Recently, Supreme Court had observed that the loan lending agencies should not resort to harassment for the recovery of a loan.
The district administration had taken a dim view of the issue and ordered a probe into the death of a farmer Jhagdu, who allegedly became a victim of constant pressure from a lending bank.
Jaghdu, resident of Tikriya Jaitpur village in Kulpahad tehsil, died after a prolonged illness yesterday.
Four years ago, he had taken a loan from the State Bank of India (Belatal branch) for the purchase of a tractor by keeping his land as security.
The bank had forcibly auctioned his tractor, after he was unable to repay the borrowed amount.
