Preparations complete for I-Day celebrations

Bhopal, Aug 14 (UNI) Ahead of the 61st Independence Day celebrations in Madhya Pradesh tomorrow, elaborate security arrangements have been made and vigil is being maintained at railway stations, bus stands and other places to thwart any untoward incident.

Flag hoisting ceremonies and parades have been organised at several places. Students from various schools would take out procession on main roads on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hoist the National Flag at Lal Parade stadium in the state capital and would read out the Independence Day message. A parade of police, SAF, NCC, jail guards, home guards and scout and guide would be organised.

On the occasion, certain people would be honoured with awards for their valuable contribution in various fields. Various attractive programmes would be rendered by students.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ishwardas Rohani and his deputy Hazarilal Raghuvanshi would hoist the National Flag at a programme in Jabalpur and Betul respectively.

The National Flag will be hoisted by the members of the state cabinet in several district headquarters.

The National Flag will be hoisted by Mr Babulal Gaur in Raisen, Mr Himmat Singh Kothari in Ratlam, Ms Kusum Mehdele in Panna, Mr Kailash Vijaywargiya in Indore, Mr Raghavji in Vidisha, Mr Jayant Malaiya in Damoh, Ms Meena Singh in Umaria, Mr Choudhary Chandrabhan Singh in Chhindwara, Mr Gopal Bhargava in Sagar, Mr Anup Mishra in Gwalior and Mr Narottam Mishra in Shivpuri.

District Collectors would hoist the National Flag in 20 district headquarters followed by the Independence Day message of the Chief Minister.

Besides, noted singer and Padamshree awardee Hariharan would render performance on patriotic songs on the occasion at a programme to be organised at Ravindra Bhavan here. Governor Balram Jakhar and Mr Chouhan would be present during the programme.
