Modi dedicates Rs 100 cr drinking water project

Mehsana, Gujarat, Aug 14 (UNI) On the eve of the 61st Independence Day, Chief Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated the Narmada link-Didiyasana group drinking water scheme worth Rs 100 crores, providing water to 226 villages and three towns of Mehsana and Patan districts.

''People with negative mentalities are creating impediments on the path of jet speed progress of our state. At no cost, such elements should be allowed to succeed,'' Mr Modi said while speaking on the occasion and referring to the Congress.

''The Narmada water has made our lives vibrant. Mehsana is going to receive 31 crore litres of Narmada water everyday,'' Mr Modi said. He claimed that as many as 400 development works at Rs 250 crore were underway in the state.

The state government has provided electricity and water to all the villages, and now LPG will reach each home through pipelines, Mr Modi said.

Referring to the Sujalam Sufalam irrigation project and the Sardar Sarovar Project, Mr Modi said they were works of technological excellence.
