MBT leader held for threatening Taslima

Hyderabad, Aug 14: A Muslim leader has been booked for publicly issuing death threat to Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen. The city police have registered a case against Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) leader Majidullah Khan Farhad under section 506 of the Indian Penal Code (criminal intimidation).

A similar case was earlier booked against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) floor leader Akberuddin Owaisi for threatening to behead Taslima if she visited Hyderabad again.

The threat was made after MIM MLAs attacked Taslima at the Press Club while participating in a book release function on August 9.
