Joint Task Force set up at IB to strengthen intelligence on terroris
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) A Multi-Agency Centre and Joint Task Force on Intelligence have been created to optimise intelligence flow and co-ordination between multifarious agencies at the Centre and in the states in the field of counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence.
The Centre and the Task Force are at the Intelligence Bureau, Delhi and would be supported by Subsidiary Multi-Agency Centres in almost all state capitals.
For strengthening counter-intelligence apparatus in the Intelligence Bureau, additional manpower has also been given.
The states have been advised to earmark up to 5 per cent of the annual total allocations under the Modernisation of the State Police Forces Scheme towards strengthening training and technical capabilities of Special Branches.
This information was given by Minister of State for Home Shri Sriprakash Jaiswal in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
