IIC opens Indian Cartoon Gallery in B'lore

Bangalore, Aug 14 (UNI) City-based Indian Institute of Cartoonists (IIC) has opened 'The Indian Cartoon Gallery' here, showcasing memorable cartoons drawn by the legends like R K Laxman, Mario Miranda, E P Unny and B V Ramamurthy.

''This is the first of its kind initiative in the country to exhibit highly educative, creative, innovative, thoughtful and socially relevant works of art, political and social scenarios,'' IIC Managing Trustee V G Narendra said.

The gallery is a vast, tastefully designed and dedicated space in the heart of the IT capital and was wholly devoted to exhibit cartoons created by state, national and international caricaturists.

IIC plans to open seminar galleries in major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi in near future, Mr Narendra added.

The gallery also houses other facilities like a conference hall, library and office.
