Govt to undertake construction of 27 link roads

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Government has decided to undertake construction of 27 road links totaling 608 Km in the India-China border in the five adjoining states, said Minister of State for Home Affairs V Radhikha Selvi in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

She said the India-China border is characterised by high altitude and relatively thin habitation which has resulted in inadequate road connectivity. The roads that would be constructed in the five bordering states with China are Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 912 crore.

She said construction of these roads is expected to commence during this financial year.
