Four people faint, die in Spanish septic tank

MADRID, Aug 13 (Reuters) Four workers at a fish farm in central Spain lost consciousness and died in a septic tank today, a regional government spokesman said.

Two workers fainted while trying to clean the tank. A third climbed in to save them but also passed out.

The wife of one of the workers then tried to help the others out of the tank but met the same fate.

''They were workers at the fish farm,'' said Juan Pablo Herranz, a government representative in Guadalajara, just east of Madrid. ''Firemen have now got them out.'' Reuters SBA VP0158
