Former CM Edward Goubert remembered

Puducherry, Aug 14 (UNI) Rich tributes were paid to former Puducherry Chief Minister Edward Goubert on his 28th anniversary of death here today.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet collegues, legislators, Puducherry Municipality chairperson Dr Sreedevi, Goubert's wife Marie and daughter Dr Anthray Karunakaran, and D Sivaraj, President of a movement striving for the welfare of the people who opted for Indian citizenship during the time of merger of Puducherry with Indian Union were, among others, who garlanded the statue of Mr Goubert at the Bharathi park here to mark the occasion.

Pradesh Congress President P Shanmugham and office-bearers of the party paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of Goubert at the Pradesh Congress Committee office.
