Doctor's body recovered in HP

Mandi, Aug 14 (UNI) The dead body of the doctor, who was missing from Sunday during heavy rains when his car fell into Khud at a point two km from Lambathach, recovered today.

Dr Murari Lal Posted at Chiuni Ayurvedic Hospital in Gohar Sub-Division of this district was going from Lamathach to Janjehli on Sunday during heavy rains when his car fell into Khud at a point two km from Lambathach. When water level receded, villagers removed his car from the Khud with ropes yesterday, but the doctor was missing. However, they recovered his mobile.

Deputy Commissioner Subhasish Panda said the death toll in the flash floods has gone up to eight according to reports received from the sub-divisions so far and the loss has been estimated at Rs 24.69 crore according to preliminary assessment. Hundreds of houses and cowsheds have been perished in the devastating rains.
