BSF seize contraband worth Rs 52 lakh

Agartala, Aug 14 (UNI) Border Security Force (BSF) have seized a large amount of contraband items worth Rs 53 lakh along the different border points in Tripura during the last one month.

BSF officials here today said seizure worth Rs 40 lakh was made while being smuggled out to Bangladesh and the remaining worth Rs 13 lakh was being smuggled in from Bangladesh.

Besides, the BSF also apprehended 52 Indian and 39 Bangladeshi nationals while trying to cross the border illegally, official sources stated adding that altogether five All Tripura Tiger Force militants surrendered along with explosives to the border guards during the period.
