BJPYM activists ransack school on I-Day function
Bangalore, Aug 14 (UNI) A group of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJPYM) activists allegedly disrupted a cultural function organised on the eve of the country's 60th Independence Day at a prestigious educational institution run by Senior congress Leader and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan here today.
According to the school authorities, over 100 BJPYM activists barged into the premises and disrupted the function marking the Independence Day.
The BJPYM workers took umbrage to the celebration, alleging the school authorities were observing it a day in advance coinciding with the Independence Day of Pakistan.
They also allegedly beat up security personnel, manhandled teachers and destroyed school property. The police brought the situation under control and arrested the agitating BJPYM workers.
However the school authorities claimed they continued with the cultural programme and would hoist the flag tomorrow.
