Pondy: PMC plea on red colour ration cards

Puducherry, Aug 13: The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) here today urged the administration to order a fresh survey on red colour ration cards here.

Addressing the press, PMC Spokesman K Lakshminarayanan, MLA, said several ineligible persons were having red colour ration cards with them.

He said all eligible persons should be given the cards. The chief minister had announced on the floor of the Assembly that as many as 56,000 persons had applied for these ration cards, he said adding even those who could not apply should be considered.

Any delay in providing the cards to the eligible was social injustice and create an embarassing situation to the legislators, he added.
