UP: People protest long power cuts in Gonda

Gonda, Aug 13: Enraged over long power cuts, a mob protested at Gonda-Bahraich highway and vandalised a power sub-station here.

Demanding eighteen hours of power supply, the mob blocked the vehicular movement at the highway and vandalised a 120 kilowatt power sub-station late last night, sources said today.

The power situation in the district continues to be grim with only 10 hrs of power supply. Meanwhile, District Magistrate Muktesh Mohan Mishra said he has written a letter to the government for the same.
