M'shtra: Transformer blast in Nashik

Nashik, Aug 12: A major blast took place when a transformer exploded in Vakilwadi area in the city here yesterday.

The explosion was so huge that it created an impact of high density bomb blast. It took place at around 2100 hrs. The blast created panic among the residents and shopkeepers of the area. The area where the blast took place in a crowded area.

Many important commercial establishments, newspaper offices are situated there.

After the massive explosion, smaller explosions continued for six to eight minutes. One fire engine rushed to the spot and controlled the fire with the use of some spray.

Power in the area was disrupted. It has been restored and the situation is under control.
