Politbureau issues guidelines for CPI(M) party conference
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 12 (UNI) Hinting that no more factionalism would be allowed in the Kerala unit of the communist Party of India (Marxist), party General Secretary Prakash Karat today said certain guidelines had been issued for the conduct of 'Party Conference' in the state.
Talking to newsmen here after the two-day state committee conference of the party, he said the state committee would strictly implement the guidelines, and if they were violated at any stage, the politbureau would interfere and stern action be taken.
Stating the party had noted factional trend in the conferences, he said, ''We should prevent any factional activities during the conference. We have asked the politbureau to prepare guidelines for the state.
''The guidelines are meant for enforcing our rules and norms implemented in the state in the light of the past experiences.'' The state-committee should uphold and ensure that the guidelines were implemented at any level of the conference.
On the controversial acceptance of Rs two crore from lottery king S Martin by the party organ Desabhimani, he said though no irregularities were noted in the deal, its General Manager E P Jayarajan had committed some mistakes.
In the wake of his lack of responsbility, the state committee had decided to remove him from the post, Mr Karat added.
