PM condemns Assam massacre

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has strongly condemned the massacre of 12 Hindi speaking migrants in Karbi Anglong district of Assam by suspected militants.

The Prime Minister talked to the state government and enquired about the action being taken. He also asked the administration to speed up relief measures for the victims.

Karbi militants killed at least twelve people in an isolated village in Karbi Anglong district on Friday night.

Earlier, suspected militants had gunned down eight people of the Hindi-speaking community, including four women and three children, in the Bokoliaghat area on August 8.
