Militants kill SPO in Kishtwar

Jammu, Aug 12 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) was shot dead by a group of militants in Kotal in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir this afternoon, officials sources said.

Sher Mohammad, working as SPO since six years, was returning home to Kotal village, 35 kms from Kishtwar town, from his police post when a group of militants intercepted him near his village in Kuntwara belt of the district this afternoon, sources said.

The militants fired on the SPO from close range and he died on the spot, sources said adding, his body was handed over to his family.
