Hooda for preserving cultural heritage

Chandigarh, Aug 12 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today reiterated the commitment of the government to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the state and make efforts to bring Kurukshetra on international map of tourism.

The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the new wing of heritage hotel at Ramgarh, near here, today.

Mr Hooda said that this was the first heritage hotel of the state, which had preserved the ancient heritage. He said that the government would specially promote such heritage hotels so as to apprise the people and visitors to the state with the old folk culture.

Later on, Mr Hooda laid the foundation stones of an entertainment park and building of a club in Sector 1 of Mansa Devi Complex. The park and the building of the club would be constructed at a cost of Rs 96.40 lakh and completed within one-and-a -half years. The entertainment park would be developed over an area of 50 acres.

He also laid the foundation stone of Rajiv Gandhi Park-cum-workers paradise to be constructed over an area of 210 acres at a cost of Rs 1.71 crore in Mansa Devi Complex. It would be completed within a year.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated a water works set up by Haryana Urban Development Authority at a cost of Rs 47.56 lakh in Sector 25.

Mr Hooda directed the officers of Haryana Urban Development Authority to lay separate pipe line from this water works to Group Housing Societies so as to supply adequate water. He said that this water work has capacity to store eight lakh gallons of water and a storage tank of an equal capacity was under construction.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by senior officers of the State Government and Panchukla District Administration.
