Four US soldiers killed by explosion near Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Aug 12 (Reuters) Four US soldiers were killed by an explosion during combat operations south of Baghdad yesterday, the US military said today.

Four other soldiers were wounded. No other details of the incident were available.

Thousands of US troops have been deployed in areas south of Baghdad to stop the flow of weapons, explosives and Shi'ite and Sunni Arab militants into the capital.
