Foetus terminated due to thrashing

Hoshangabad, MP, Aug 12 (UNI) A foetus has got terminated due to a pregnant woman being beaten up by relatives after being suspected of witchcraft in this district's Itarsi township.

''Ms Asha Mehra was returning after offering worship when she was targeted two days back. A case was registered,'' said Town Inspector Bhartendu Sharma. The foetus was removed after sonography at a government hospital.

The victim and her husband Jagdeesh alleged that the relatives mistook her worship as witchcraft against them.
