Bharti appoints JWT as ad agency for DTH
New Delhi, Aug 12: Close on the heels of Bharti Telemedia, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd, announced its plans to launch the direct-to-home (DTH) services, the company today said it has appointed JWT as its advertising agency for the direct-to-home (DTH) services.
''JWT will handle our DTH business. The scale of the Airtel brand, which spans across categories and consumer segments, will allow us to leverage the capabilities of two full service agencies,'' Bharti Airtel's Director (Marketing and Communications) Gopal Vittal said.
With the DTH market poised to grow to about Rs 3,000 crore over the next five years, Airtel is looking to JWT for supporting its aggressive roll out plans in this business, Mr Vittal added.
Bharti Telemedia plans to launch DTH services by the last quarter of FY 2007-08. The company has received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for commencing its DTH services from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
