Another depression in Orissa coast

Bhubaneswar, Aug 12 (UNI) A week after a deep depression wreaked havoc in Coastal Orissa bringing normal life into grinding halt at several places and submerging Cuttack city under rain water, another depression looms large over coastal Orissa.

According to Met sources, a well-marked low pressure area has formed over North-West Bay of Bengal off Orissa-West Bengal coast.

and the system is likely to be concentrated into a Depression.

Under its impact, heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy falls of more than 25 cm at isolated places over Orissa during next 48 hours.

The authority has hoisted storm warning signals number three at Paradeep, Chandbali, Puri and Gopalpur ports and advised the fishermen not to venture into the sea as the sea condition would be rough to very rough.

Squally surface wind from Westerly direction with speed reaching 45-55 kmph are likely to prevail along and off Orissa coast, Met sources said.

Meanwhile, several parts of Coastal Orissa today witnessed heavy rains in the wake of the low pressure.
