Agumbe receives 11 cm rain

Bangalore, Aug 12 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Agumbe 11; Karkala 8; Madikeri, Somwarpet 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kollur 6; Subramanya, Bhatkal, Bhagamandala 5 each; Mudibidre, Kota, Shirali 4 each; Mani, Puttur, Mangalore, Madapura 3 each; Honavar, Kottigehara, Sakleshpura 2 each; Mulki, Panambur, Mangalore AP, Ankola, Haliyal, Indi, Chittapur, Ponampet, Tyagarthi, Humchadakatte, N.R.Pura, Pavgada 1 each.

Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka&South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall is expected over the State.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with a spell of rain/shower.
