Wild boar kills 1, injures 14 in flood-hit UP

Lucknow, Aug 11: A wild boar, which had entered an inhabited area following floods killed one person and injured 14 others in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

Additional director general of police (Law and Order) Brij Lal said here the boar had deserted its habitation near Bakhera Taal following floods. ''It entered a hut and injured a boy yesterday.

When the boy raised an alarm, villagers tried to kill the beast. In the process, one person identified as Swaminath (40) was killed and 14 others injured,'' he said yesterday.

While two of the greviously injured were rushed to Gorakhpur, 12 others were provided first aid at Sant Kabir Nagar public health centre.

The chief wildlife warden has given a go ahead to shoot the boar.
