Rape victim commits suicide

Gulbarga, Aug 11 (UNI) Unable to bare the humiliation of being raped, a 19 year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her house here today.

Police said Raju Chalkari (22) a resident of the same area, allegedly raped her when she was alone in her house.

Immediately after the incident, the victim, Renuka hanged herself from a ceiling fan.

Police said her parents were out of station when the incident occurred. Her brother had lodged a complaint with the police.

Dy Superintendent of Police (Rural) S S Nayak visited the scene.

The accused was absconding, police said.
