Kumaraswamy urges Centre to depute team
Davanagere, Aug 11: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today urged the Centre to depute a team to study the situation in the flood hit districts immediately.
Talking to newsmen near Harihara after an aerial survey of the flood hit Davanagere district, he alleged that the Centre was adopting a step-motherly attitude in all respects compared to other states.
He said he would lead an all party delegation to Delhi and meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil soon to urge more funds to take up relief works.
Mr Kumaraswamy appealed to the state Congress leaders to convince their leaders in Delhi to treate Karnataka on par with other states.
The Chief Minister, who was earlier scheduled to make an aerial survey of seven flood affected districts could not do so due to bad weather. He could make a survey in Shimoga District only.
