J'khand Governor calls for integrated farming

Ranchi, Aug 11 (UNI) Urging the farmers to adopt integrated farming system in the state, Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi today said it was the only way to increse the agriculture produce.

Addressing a programme, organised by the NABARD, Mr Razi said integrated farming system would help the farmers increase their yield as only ten per cent of total agricultural land was being irrigated in the state.

Stressing the need for strengthening agriculture sector, Mr Razi said earlier foodgrains were exported from other countries, " but now we were self-dependent on foodgrains. " Appreciating the non-government organisations for developing 37 villages of the state as models, Mr Razi said these efforts helped embolden the rural structure.
