Disha award for underprivileged youth opens

Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Applications have been opened for the underprivileged 'Young Achievers 2007' DISHA award under the annual programme of Ma Foi Foundation.

The award aims at supporting youth between 10 and 16 years of age with disadvantaged backgrounds, who have achieved excellence in academic or extra-curricular activities or community services, according to a release here today.

The forms and details are available at the Confederation of Indian Organizations for Service and Advocacy (COISA) office and website and must be submitted on or before August 30. The prizes will be given on September 11.

The Ma Foi Foundation was launched in July, 2006, as the corporate social responsibility wing of Ma Foi. The foundation gives financial assistance to academically deserving students from poor socio-economic background and now supports more than 1,000 students, added the release.
